Self-sabotage…
You know the word…
So, as you read each word of this email, I want you to keep in mind I’ll be sending you 2 short video clips tomorrow to go further into this important topic…
If you’re like most people, you may have had major bouts of self-sabotage in your own life…
…maybe you’re going through a self-sabotaging phase right now.
I’m very familiar with it because I’ve overcome my own in the past…
…and it’s one of THE MAIN problems I help my 1-on-1 private coaching clients overcome, in order to reach personal fitness, body and health success for LIFE…
The truth is anyone can beat & defeat self-sabotage for good.
But first we need to understand it…
Most of us have been through the “up & down fitness” cycles…
The “eat right for a few weeks and then blow it all in one weekend and stay off track for months on end, until the next New Year hits…”
We get a medical/health scare and then we urgently start again… “super clean” eating, exercising 5 days a week and then BOOM! some kind of drama knocks us of course again…”
Or, maybe there was a time you were doing great for a long time, 6 months or something…
..and then a life challenge comes up (THEY DO for ALL of US!) and POW!
Or some type of “distraction” causes you to lose your way and stray off course…
…before you know it you’re OFF your program and out of your excellent lifestyle you had going…
Your body starts to regress, getting soft, achy…
…sluggish, mushy, maybe even gaining, getting heavy, further out of shape…
… tired, lethargic, not sleeping well, clothes not fitting right…
… mindset getting worse, discouraged, self-disgust, FRUSTRATION…
… low self-esteem, bouts of depression and anxiety (NOTE – these go MUCH higher when we are out of shape and unhealthy, BUT they go DOWN when we get FIT..)
You’re upset with yourself, your life, your inability to really get a full handle on this important part of your life…
Your health, your body, your self-image, your well-being, your quality of life, your longevity, your disease and death risk factors…
These are ALLLLLLLLL impacted by how well, or how not so well we take care of ourselves..
Simple equation, really.
BUT – we must learn to conquer the demon of self-sabotage.
And here is how we do it.
We must acknowledge it, respect it, understand it is “always there” and always will be…
And in doing that, we make it tangible, NORMAL, identifiable and therefore CONTROLLABLE…
We take control of self-sabotage by acknowledging it exists as a natural part of the human mind.
It’s that “other voice” we sometimes allow to control us, in negative ways…
Sometimes it’s even a voice so silent, you don’t “hear it” but it still destroys your good intentions and crushes your best laid plans…
When a new 1-on-1 coaching client begins a private coaching plan with me, we talk for a bit in the early stages, they open up…
Some answers start to come forth… then I have them go a little deeper in a simple, but important question & answer sequence.
The answers they provide in that answer sequence turn out to be the raw material for how I guide them through conquering self-sabotage.
Essentially you outline your past issues, what problems got you to the low point you might be at now…
Why do you want to succeed?
What is REALLY important, besides just “looking good” or “getting a better body”?
Those are fine, but they’re not deep enough to create the strength and power to smother out self-sabotage.
Your “reasons why” must be so strong (and everyone should have these) that self-sabotage no longer stands a chance against you…
It just has to sit quietly and behave, for the rest of your life.
Yes, it just sits there.
For some it simply just eventually dies off completely, never to show up again.
Gone.
The key to beating self-sabotage is learning how to navigate the events, episodes, dramas and blind-spots of your life so that they don’t derail you and send you off a cliff again…
And this is doable by all of us, because we are intelligent humans with super-powers that most people hardly ever tap into.
We navigate those potential times by pre-planning for them and what our responsive plan of action will be.
We PREMEDITATE what we will do if we start to deviate from the good path we are on.
And we stick to those predetermined plans.
We beat self-sabotage with…
Self-worth, self-respect, self-AWARENESS…
Self-care, self-improvement, self-regard…
Self-actualization, self-support, self-sufficiency…
Some of us learn how to do this on our own.
Some of us need help to “get over the hump”, learn how to do it, and see that in fact … “I CAN DO IT!”
Once you have someone guide you to show you YOU CAN do it.. then you believe in yourself.
And once you BELIEVE in yourself, then you become victorious, because you’ve realized you’re fully capable.
And despite some minor bumps in the road that may come our way – we will know how to handle them, because we’ve LEARNED how…
That’s how we conquer self-sabotage for good.
One of the other most critical ingredients in beating self-sabotage is KNOWING what to do for your plans…
Example:
If you choose the wrong fitness program (painful, time-consuming, hurts your joints, not getting you the results), you will subconsciously find a way to self-sabotage your way out of it.
Remember that time? (everyone has been through that.)
Even if you choose the RIGHT fitness program, such as what we give you in Total Access here , you might still find ways to “throw yourself off the wagon”…
…but that can be fixed too, with the right guidance and support.
A note about “dieting”…
I’ve NEVER met anyone who “started a new diet”, who stayed on it.
Ever.
You know why?
We’re not supposed to be dieting.
It truly is one BIG hoax, a shell game mixed with smoke & mirrors…
Think about how many diets you may have tried over the years…
It’s all designed to keep taking advantage of all the people who participate in the vicious cycle of body challenges, weight problems and food/eating issues…
We’re supposed to be eating properly, the way Divine design intended as part of our existence.
All the foods and elements we need to thrive in our best body and optimum health ALREADY exist, without having to “DIET” to reap all the profound benefits that are provided by nature…
And supplements are a great help.
But they can’t “fix” an awful nutrition lifestyle.
Quality nutrition supplements do “supplement” and boost a nutritious eating lifestyle and hence better results on the inside and outside, but they will not cancel out or negate a poor diet.
This is another area I help my coaching clients with…
Taking a look at their supplements and seeing what we can subtract, modify or add, in order to save them money and reduce possibility of over-supplementing. (vitamin/mineral toxemia).
