private health coach

Joey Atlas / December 15, 2021

At 63, Annie’s Getting Fit, Toned, Healthy, Strong and HAPPY as Ever!

In all my years of private fitness/health coaching, one of the most painful things to witness is…

Seeing a person who has been a prisoner of their body for most of their life.

You may know someone like that. Maybe a family member… or maybe even you…

I’ve been there myself too.

Yes, even me… I’m human.

BUT, that personal experience has given me the unique insight, deep empathy and ‘magic’ power required to help people break free of their own “body prison”…

There’s no question I’ve been gifted from someplace much higher and far greater than myself…

And being able to deliver the help is incredibly rewarding on many levels, and I’m thoroughly grateful for having the unique ability.

…Which takes us to today’s PROFOUND example and lesson of proof…

You may have seen me mention Annie (63 at the time of this) in the last few emails, working on her “2-Month Reflection Letter”…

In case you missed any of the previous reflection letters from other clients – a reflection letter is something I usually ask most clients to write, around the 1, 2 or 3 month mark…

Some clients I have wait a bit longer depending on circumstances and timelines….

What these reflection letters do is bring deep awareness and concrete truth to how far a client has come in their early coaching plans with me.

They also serve as one of the key elements that cements and “locks in” each client’s success for LIFE.

And with permission, I like to share these reflection letters with others so that the proof and power can become a catalyst for others to achieve their own success in ways they never thought possible..

So, today, I share Annie’s VERY powerful and inspiring “3-Month Reflection Letter”…

It was supposed to be at month #2, but with her super-busy schedule, we needed to move it to month 3…

Nonetheless – this one will last a lifetime.

Enjoy, take some notes and feel free to share this with anyone else you know who might be currently locked up in tier own “body prison”…

NOTE – to cut down on incoming emails I will share right here that Annie, just like all my coaching clients, is following the Sample Schedule fitness training routines that I guide her on here in Total-Access, which anyone can join and use, even if you’re not doing private health-fitness coaching with me.

Here we go!!
____________________________

Hi, I’m Annie Camp and I’ve been working as a one-on-one remote private coaching client of Joey’s for about three months now.

I’m 63 years young and this is my 3-month Reflection Letter, requested by Joey to share how far I’ve come so far.

One of my passions in life is to challenge preconceived notions about “aging”, take advantage of all the information we’ve learned about health & longevity and put it into practice to get the results and benefits.

I believe we don’t have to accept decline, I say let’s outsmart it! Let’s redefine aging. I decided to embark on a coaching plan with Joey to help me do exactly that.

I’ve been working out more or less for over thirty years.

I was a runner for a long time.

When I lived in NYC I used to run from the World Trade Center to my apartment in Hell’s Kitchen which is midtown, eat lunch, and run back down the lower half of Manhattan to get back to work.

That was my idea of fun (huh?)

Additionally, I’ve been a gym member with a trainer using a Nautilus machine circuit. It was here that I jacked up my inner thigh tissue doing heavy weight on the abductor/adductor machine following the advice I found in a fitness book. By the way, all that is smoothing out since I started working with Joey.

I’ve done free weights using routines I found in books and later on YouTube, including traditional pushups and other mainstream exercises.
In doing those, I developed wrist injuries and tried to work through the pain, only to end up in a physical therapist’s office for rehab while studying cello at Juilliard and needing to practice many hours a day.

I then did an isometric style routine called Callanetics for a good while and even went to classes at a Callanetics studio in the Carnegie Hall building to get trained in the method. It pulled in some things and jacked up other places.

All the while my behind looked worse and worse. I stopped wearing a bathing suit in front of anyone.

At one point I bought a used (ancient) Bowflex machine with warped carbon fiber rods (comical, really) and devised an arm workout routine which I did for a while.

That thing is massive and takes up about 1/5 of my basement (anybody want it? It’s free!) The workout gave me limited results.

I was up very early one day and watched the Total Gym infomercial and bought that contraption on payments which I tried but didn’t see how in the world I was going to get a good workout, let alone results, rolling up and down on that ramp holding those silly pulleys (it’s free to a good home also).

I bought some resistance bands, watched some videos on YouTube and put together a routine I thought would help me out.

I supplemented with some poorly designed dumbbell moves and soon enough I began to have back injuries.

In my quest to address the cellulite issues as I journeyed forward, I learned about the plastic claw thing to treat cellulite.

I bought it and raked it over my hips, thighs, arms and stomach three times a week for four years.

I also consulted with their company for advice on how to get results with the device.

They suggested all kinds of things. Faster, slower, harder, soft and brisk, more frequently, less often, heat the tissue in the hot tub, longer treatment sessions.

I studied the book looking for what I may have been doing wrong to not get good results.

I thought this must be the “worse before better phase” they talk about.

Well, that “worse before better phase” never ended!!

I finally looked in the mirror about six months ago and realized I had ground my legs into hamburger meat.

It was horrifying and I was desperate for the right advice.

I needed sanity and I needed results. I needed improvements and I don’t give up.

I would see those exercise machine commercials and watch the actors doing their HIIT moves and think that must be what I have to do.

I was considering getting up early to do a grueling HIIT routine every day.

I tell you this so you know I’ve tried a lot of things, and I’m disciplined enough to execute whatever program I think will help.

It wasn’t for lack of will or discipline or time or desire. I had all that.

I just didn’t know what would work.

But I sure learned a lot of things that did not work.

I ate healthy between trying extreme diet plans.

I’ve struggled my entire life to keep my weight where I want it.

My closet spanned three sizes at any given time, which was expensive and very frustrating.

You would think after all these many years of eating clean and working out I would have results to show for it.

But no.

Except for brief periods of weight control and some very limited strength training results, all these efforts were pretty much in vain. Not even close to what I had envisioned and was aiming for.

I lived in hope, though, as we all should, but there came a point about three months ago where I realized that I must not know what I need to know to get where I want to go.

That is actually a very powerful place to arrive at.

I decided to ask my wise husband. “Honey, I’m thinking of changing up my exercise routine, but I don’t know what to do next. What do you think I should do?”

He and I reviewed all the things I’d done since he knew me.

He said “What about that Joey Atlas method you were doing last year? That was the best you ever looked.”

Flabbergasted, I asked him why he didn’t say anything before, and he said “Because you didn’t ask.” (slap palm on forehead and hold)

I first heard about Joey Atlas methods about a year ago, when I did a google search for cellulite cures.

I was pretty skeptical about finding anything viable from a search like that because for years I’ve read it’s about water retention, it’s about nutrient deficiencies and needing special supplements, it’s about using a plastic claw tool to treat the fascia, it’s about dry brushing, or worse, there isn’t a cure.

Well, in the search results was a link for Naked Beauty by Joey Atlas.

I clicked on it, watched a short video and decided to try it, so I paid the $49 for online access to the program.

I did it for about six weeks.

My jeans were getting tighter and I thought at the time I was bulking up so I stopped.

I do have a tendency to build muscle pretty quickly but in retrospect it wasn’t the Naked Beauty program, it was actually a few of those extra pounds I’d put on. Been there before.

So, while wondering what to do next, a few days later I got one of Joey’s emails he sends out periodically. I read the testimonials and quotes from the FB group and he mentioned private coaching.

I realized in a lucid flash that I could really, really, really use some guidance and some coaching on exactly what to do.

I was so. fed. up. just stabbing in the dark, guessing, trying to figure it all out on my own.

For it all, over the years, I had earned a glitchy knee and shoulder, sore wrists, battered feet from running (and years of wearing ill-fitting high heels), odd-looking lines in the tissue on my inner thighs, and a back issue that would flare up sometimes after my free weight arm workout.

Occasionally I’d throw my back out and have to take pain meds and muscle relaxants, which I carried around 24/7 for fear my back would start hurting.

Optimistic, I booked a coaching consultation with Joey, we discussed my past issues, current challenges, my top goals and I started the personal coaching program with him that same day.

It is absolutely remarkable to me how quickly my body responded to these new exercise routines I’m learning from Joey.

Within three days I remarked to him that I didn’t even move the same.

I wouldn’t have thought biomechanics would shift that fast, but he was not surprised, only thrilled for me.

Very quickly I could see changes in how I walked and even in my quality of sleep.

About a month into the coaching program, Joey suggested I try his style of flexible intermittent fasting.

I had been wanting to try it for a while but knew I needed coaching through it, so I got started on that as per Joey’s guidance and reported back the very next day after starting.

Happily, “the apocalypse” I was imagining had not been triggered by my lack of food for 16 hours.

I’m doing that comfortably every day right now. All my clothes are fitting better and some are now too big. I don’t take this for granted. It’s a dream come true.

The first thing I noticed was peace of mind.

I was given a plan of action and I finally knew what to do. Knowing what to do makes all the difference in the world.

It was fantastic to feel like I didn’t have to suffer through more trial and error as I failed my way to a finish line somewhere on the horizon that I could not see and at the rate I was going I would never see.

All the awful diets, the wild and weird workouts …over thirty punishing years of dysfunctional trial and error, doing all the wrong things, sometimes stupid things, but I just didn’t know better.

Well, I do now.

The second thing I noticed was how quickly my body was, and still is, responding to Joey’s training routines and stretch-mobility sessions.

Within about three days I noticed I wasn’t even walking the same.

And within a week or two, the chronically sore joints I’d had for a while began to feel better and the range of motion was improving.

Being in my sixties, this literally feels like I am getting younger as all the typical signs of aging that most people feel are being reversed. Like rewinding my age clock.

It took about two months for me to be able to do a bodyweight squat, but my knees have gotten so much stronger and flexible, and I’m now doing lunges and squats without any concern.

I’m a professional cellist and I’ve had a very sore left thumb for about six months, to the point I thought maybe this was going to be chronic and affect my playing, and I was really worried about it.

Joey had previously coached me through some lower back soreness using heat and stretching.

I took what I’d learned from him about the power of stretching and I worked on that thumb for a couple of weeks, using massage and gentle stretches.

One day I noticed I HADN’T noticed it all day – it had become a NON-issue.

I’m playing all those musical passages using the thumb without any pain now. This means so VERY much to me!

One of the sad things about not finding Joey and his amazing methods earlier is all the wasted time I spent faithfully performing badly designed exercise routines, damaging diets and destructive fascia treatment sessions when I could have been spending more time with my family enjoying being in great shape, healthy and strong, without all the anxiety and confusion I’ve been through.

My kids are grown now and have their own lives, but I’m sure they have many memories of Mom’s absence while she pounded away at her elusive fitness goals, almost daily.

I love the private coaching structure because I get laser-targeted answers to my specific personal questions, and directions toward the right equipment, food & meal items, and fitness training techniques.

We’ve had coaching session conversations about nutrition and supplements which helped guide and fine-tune my food choices.

I’m a foodie; I love to cook healthy food and I love to eat.

I study nutrition as a personal interest, so I’m not a beginner in that respect, but I really needed clarification about some things, and the flexible intermittent fasting has been a game-changer.

The way Joey addresses the nutrition part of the equation is extremely liberating and has given me an entire perspective shift in how I approach my meals. And I’m no longer afraid I’ll wake up in a week and my clothes are getting snug, again.

With Joey’s “no diet” approach, what I’ve learned can be applied anywhere, even when traveling, because it’s principle-based — all based on physiological truths.

I know this, because it’s all working now. Everything in the past did not work.

I had two children after turning 40, and little did I know what that did to me internally. At that age, it’s more challenging for the body to recover from pregnancy.

The loss of muscle tone in my lower abdomen and the shifting of internal organs was profound, though I didn’t know it at the time.

It affected my marriage in a real way. I went to a gynecological surgeon who of course wanted to remove organs and sew things into place.

I declined but I still knew something needed to be done.

Now that I’ve regained valuable muscle tone & control in those areas in question, I’m a MUCH happier wife. I didn’t know that I was going to enjoy this benefit!

I also didn’t know when I started Joey’s program that I was joining a community that shares a similar attitude about health with me.

Giving the body what it needs to thrive, including the right amounts of nutritious food and the proper exercise, is key to maximizing your vital life energy.

It’s a sort of loving stewardship, really, of what you’ve been given.

This is a stark contrast to the mainstream hard-to-do diet and mass-market exercise programs, which feel more like you’re at war with your body and your own mind.

This method, Joey’s way, is sustainable for life, those war tactics are not.

To experience all these physical improvements, including dropping more than two inches from my waist, triceps that don’t jiggle, and the real possibility that I could wear a swimsuit next summer, has been a dream come true.

I know that I’m still evolving and changing and that’s exciting.

My belly is flattening, my legs are smoothing out, cellulite diminishing, and my behind is lifting.

It’s so exciting to literally BE a transformation.

Every day I wake up excited to see what happens next!

I look forward to my workouts because I know what they’re doing for me and they aren’t that hard lol.

How is it I’m getting these results without killing myself?

I see my colleagues at school look at me sideways, so I know they wonder what in the world I’m doing.

Thank God I found Joey and his ideas and broke out of that all too common middle-age rut of losing muscle tone, expanding more every year and struggling to fight it by inept means and failing, buying clothes for what they can hide instead of what they can accentuate.

Now, things are very different. This is a new story unfolding.

I’m literally giddy. And being only three months into this, I’m looking forward to continued progress, success and this new strong way of living the future phases of my life.

Excited and grateful,
Annie

This is yet another real-life example of someone PROVING that the “age myth” is just an overblown excuse and/or a MAJOR misunderstanding…

At 63, Annie is blowing all myths and excuses out of the water.

She is learning what to do, how to do it, when and why….

We are clearing up all confusion… BLOCKING all the crazy distratcions that most people are people fooled and trikced by every day..

You know the ones I’m talking about…

All the crazy new things you see on fb and the internet every minute of the day….

All the wild body crushing workouts, the dysfunctional eating methods…

The procedures, the treatments, the “detox kit” that your friend’s hairdresser is selling, who still looks like she needs to use it (what the heck?)…

…the “blood, saliva, urine, hair tests”… What?? Seriously?

“personalized vitamins”? lol… No.

Don’t fall for any of that confusing, misleading, life-damaging nonsense.

All that stuff just blinds you to the real issues, the real blockages that you need to see, address and put behind you once and for all…

Just like Annie, and all the other testimonials you’ve read over the last few months…

My one month reflection on my new fitness journey with Joey as my personal Coach

Before I started one-on-one coaching with Joey my fitness Journey was very confused and scattered, with many terrible attempts at trying to do the right things for myself.

I have tried so many things. It’s crazy.

For years I did all the beach body workouts, you name it I’ve done it.

I’ve done brazil butt lift, turbo jam, turbo fire, P 90 x, P90x 2, insanity max 30 and even Chalene extreme and body beast, all the crazy stuff they say we should do to get results.

Cardio, muscle confusion, lifting heavy, fast movements, HIIT and all those workouts where you need to kill yourself, that never got me anywhere.

My main goals have always been to really tighten, tone, and sculpt my body and get rid of that cellulite that most of us women deal with, no matter what size we are.

Well, none of these crazy workouts or diets did that.

Sometimes I would be working out and say to myself “Why do people do this kind of stuff to get in shape, it doesn’t make any sense” …

But lacking in knowledge I thought this was the only way to get fit.

I kept at it for years doing these workouts, every time they came out with a new one I was  right there buying another crazy program that wouldn’t work for me.

Some of the programs would even say “if you don’t lift heavy and go to failure, then go home…” but I still continued on the wrong path and I even ended up hurting my hip somehow to the point it was in so much pain, even just sitting down.

I still even struggle with it to this day.

All the crazy HIIT workouts, killing myself literally being so out of breath trying to get results.

My body really just got worse, instead of better, and I never saw the sculpted body I was looking for or reduction in my cellulite like I wanted.

After all the beachbody stuff I did another program because I was still trying to get rid of that cellulite and tone and sculpt, so I made another attempt to try again.

I kept thinking; “Well if I just keep doing these crazy workouts, I have to eventually get results”  Right?

No, I was so wrong… then I found another program that promised to help me with all my body goals and I was even given a coach to schedule my workouts and even help with nutrition if needed.

Well I started getting SO super confused because I would write down all my food I ate for the day and she would look at it and say “you’re eating way too much”…

It would really confuse me because I would see others the same height as me on the program and even older and they said they would have to eat more food to get their bodies in shape.

Seriously confused, I started saying to myself “This doesn’t make any sense, I’m taller and I need to eat less food”??

I even sent in my pictures and all they could say was because I’m older and perhaps going through perimenopause and having food allergies and food intolerances I’m not seeing the results I wanted.

I actually got really sick too with them trying to help with my food intolerances and even taking out healthy foods I really didn’t even need to avoid!!

My body was just getting worse, more mushy, deflated, saggy and just feeling awful. I was a big mess that needed to be fixed.

This program also had me doing so much cardio and those crazy HIIT workouts that everyone swears by. I was doing a lot of jumping around, step jumps, burpees, you name it I did it.

It got to the point that my calves and achilles were getting so painfully tight that everyday I had to foam roll them just to get some relief and that didn’t even solve it.

I just said to myself one day;  “I need to find a better way, there has to be a better way”.

Well I started digging through some old DVDS that I have and low and behold I found some of my Joey Atlas videos that I had bought several years ago.

I remembered that when I was using them, I had gotten a lot of compliments on my legs and body and I would always tell people “Yeah and they’re such easy workouts and gentle on the body that anyone of any age could do it.”

Well I dug those DVDS out, I have the Naked Beauty/SYMULAST program and the ULBHTM – Levels 1 and 2 and I decided on my own that I would start incorporating these into my lower-body days…

I started with the naked beauty and started doing it 1x through after doing my regular leg workout from this other program I was doing with the coaches I had at that time.

Well, with Joey’s training sessions I could just feel how my muscles were really working and being targeted in a slow controlled manner and I wasn’t killing myself.

And it was also the connective tissue, the fascia, tendons and nerves being activated and trained properly too. This is a unique aspect of Joey’s methods and there is something to be said about this.

After I did that 1x through for a couple of times I decided to tell my coach I was going to start incorporating some of “my own workouts”, but at the same time she still gave me a lot of cardio and jumping around stuff so I could see I really wasn’t getting the results that I knew my body could attain.

So little by little even though I was still paying for the previous coaching I decided on my own to do my own thing, so I made up my own schedule with Naked Beauty and with the Ultimate Leg, Butt, Hip and Thigh Makeover from Joey (which are all in Total-Access, plus all the new programs they add each month.)

So every other day 3 x a week I worked my whole lower-body using Joey’s programs.

Well, after avoiding the high-volume cardio for a really long time I could tell my body was now starting to get firmer and feel so different again and starting to respond in a really good way.

Now starting to feel these changes I started to look for Joey online, I was like “I wonder what this guy is up to, I need to seriously find him, I just love this guy.”

So I dug around on google for him, I figured he has to be somewhere around here, lol, so I started just googling his name and a lot of stuff came up and I found one of his main sites where I found my favorite trainer for life,  Joey Atlas

I found the amazing, wonderful, and awesome Joey Atlas.

I’m actually starting to tear up as I’m writing this because this is where it gets sooooo Good and my life and body starts to change for the better.

I was reading one of the articles he wrote and everything he said was exactly what I’ve been looking for…

I was even still getting emails from Joey at this time for YEARS, So I started reading those emails again every single day and there was always a success story on there or some words of encouragement that just told me; “Beth this is where you need to be, on Joey’s programs, completely.”

So my first step, before even seeing if Joey could take me on as a personal 1-on-1 coaching client, was to just try the programs he has set up in his Total-Access video-on-demand plan.

Well it was the ABSOLUTE best decision of my life I have ever made.

I got into the video-on-demand site and browsed around on it every single day and saw some amazing stuff and even the workouts I ALREADY started to reincorporate back into my routines and lots more.

His style of training just amazed me even more, I knew it was already good of course from the workouts I’ve been doing but I could totally see his gentle, and slow approach in all these newer workouts I was looking at.

Not one single training session had anything crazy, painful or risky in it.

Each day Joey also shares his own training session on facebook live in real time so I decided I would start watching those, because they are so encouraging to watch.

Well, one of the times when he was working out he was talking about another stupid myth of how people say; “you need to eat directly after a workout or you’ll lose your muscles.”

I started to laugh so hard because so many regular trainers make lots of people think that’s true, but it’s totally not the case.

Here Joey was looking all fit and toned and his muscles were looking strong and sculpted and still does of course… And he DOES NOT eat right after his training sessions and they don’t force their clients to do it either.

I was thinking; “this is exactly what I want” I responded to Joey right in the facebook live comments as he was training and interacting with us, and I said “Joey I need help with my nutrition because I don’t even know if I’m eating enough”

He said “ I’ll get you, Just leave me a message below and we can talk”  I was like “Joey I am totally serious here” So I wrote on his facebook page “ Joey I am truly serious, can you really help me? I need help big time.”

I actually even said “ I don’t know if I”m even eating enough protein and healthy fats”

See all those other programs I had been using confused me on my nutrition, saying I was eating way too much, them saying stupid things like you can’t eat carbs or fruit after a certain time in the day.

No wonder I was so messed up. It was all nonsense and unproven myths which are still being pushed out there!

Well Sweet sweet Joey got in touch with me. He said Message me on facebook and I’ll get back to you.

I was so serious about what I said and what I wanted to do so I sent Joey a message…

He replied back and got my number and information and said he would call me. I said that would be great.

He called me and I accidentally missed his phone call at the time so he left a message but as soon as I saw he called and I missed it I automatically called him back because I was SERIOUS.

He probably thought I was Craaaazzzyyy!!!!! …..LOL

When he answered we laughed a bit and we went into our conversation of what I wanted to accomplish, my goals, and how I’ve been so confused from all the junk programs and coaching in the past that I’ve been doing and people brainwashing me with their dysfunctional ways.

Joey is so understanding and compassionate, he knew exactly where I was coming from and he understood all the nonsense I was going through.

He KNOWS the “bad” fitness that has been flooding the mass-markets for decades.

So Joey asked if I would be interested in 1 on 1 coaching and I said that would be awesome.

It was certainly an investment. But I thought about all the crap I’ve been put through and all the programs I’ve done, all the previous money wasted, with no success to show for it.

And I thought how nice it would be to finally have someone as amazing as Joey to directly help me with all this and get this part of my life figured out once and for all.

Good grief it’s Joey Atlas!!  LOL. He’s not just some weekend certified trainer, he is an Exercise Physiologist with a Master’s Degree! Who has that?!

So I gladly and most excitedly said OH yeah let’s do this, because I just knew he would be the one to guide me to the best results ever.

I’m happy to say it’s only been a little over a month and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made in my life.

My only regret is that I didn’t start with him as my coach. But the past is past and now is my time.

I am actually seeing and feeling changes like I’ve never felt or seen before, EVER.

Oh and I sent some pictures to Joey so he could see what he had to work with. It was so amazing that as soon as he saw me he knew EXACTLY what I needed.

I actually needed to re-gain lean-tissue weight first, to repair all the damage that the previous programs did to me.

We needed to rebuild my body, or as Joey and his team call it “re-composition”, which is what they do with all clients regardless of your weight or size.

They look at your body in a completely different way than regular fitness/nutrition coaches. And this is why all of their clients get life-changing results.

All these other programs couldn’t even figure that out for me.

I sent them pictures and not even once did they say, “Oh you need to regain some lean weight, you’re not even eating enough”…..LOL

But Joey was right on the money and knew exactly what I personally and specifically needed to make progress toward my goals.

My body is still in the process of making many, many more changes but I’m definitely feeling and seeing the improvements happen and even the hubby is giving me compliments everyday.

He said; “the cellulite is definitely smoothing out” — so Oh Yeah to that!!

He even says he can’t believe the changes he is seeing already and how great Joey is for helping me out with all this.

He’s loving the process just as much as me and I know there’s gonna be a lot more yet to happen and I’m super excited for it.

Also, with Joey’s direct guidance and coaching, I’m now focusing on eating more plant-based nutrition, just like my BEST AND FAVORITE TRAINER FOR LIFE Joey .

His recipe videos are so simple, but unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.

I have always loved veggies and eating healthy but I am so happy and grateful to learn that there are even more ways and even better ways of cooking and eating so that I can get better results with my health and physique by eating more plant-based and organic foods to eliminate the chemicals and junk we put into our bodies, that work against us.

Joey’s knowledge in these areas is on a whole different level than anyone else.

And what’s amazing is he and his team don’t put people on diets, they simply coach you into the way we should be eating but in a way that is so delicious and easy to do anywhere, so you can never “fall off the wagon”.

A lot of people think it’s hard to get quality protein in your body if you eat plant-based, well I’ve learned that is not the case at all. It’s easy to get awesome amounts of super-healthy protein if you know what to do.

I’m super excited to see what my body is going to do in these next phases for sure especially with eating a lot more plant-based.

I will definitely say that I’ll never have to find another fitness training program or way of eating again, since I found Joey— seriously MY HERO for sure.

Right now my body has changed quite a bit in this 1st Phase I’m in.

My Jeans are fitting soooooo much better, my butt is lifting and I’m feeling a lot firmer and I see the cellulite starting to fade away.

It’s weird because it’s like my body is making all these small little shifts each day and I can see it.

When I feel my thighs I have never felt them be so firm and strong before and even that fat under the butt is starting to change too.

I know for sure I’m in the right place now.

My arms are looking stronger and tighter and I have curves like a woman should have.

I can’t express how grateful I am to be on this wonderful Journey with Joey…

This truly means so much to me and it’s not even just about the physical it’s about me being healthy and now eating more of a wide variety of food giving my body the nutrients it needs to just be healthy in every way and function normally and have more energy and enjoying life to a larger degree for the rest of my life.

Joey is absolutely the BEST and there is no program or any other person in my eyes that is better.

He is helping me so much, and from the bottom of my heart I say thank you and I know it’s not even over yet. I have so much more to look forward to on this Journey with him.

As I write this my eyes filling up with tears:

Joey, thank you for being with me on this journey of health and fitness and showing me the right way to exercise, eat properly for my body and just being here for me.

Words can’t even express how truly thankful I am to have you in my life to fix the big mess I was in. You’re absolutely a beautiful soul with a big heart, An ANGEL indeed!!!!

I’m super excited for more changes that are gonna take place on this journey with you.

I truly appreciate you helping me and how great and loving you really are. I’ve never experienced a better experience yet and I know I will never will because this experience means more to me than gold or anything else that I could have.

You’re truly a GEM Joey.

I’m starting to really cry now but I truly mean this from the bottom of my heart so it needs to be in this document for sure…..LOL

This is a special moment in my life!!!!!

Joey thanks for being so awesome and being “THE TRUTH” that you are and I know this wonderful journey is not over yet, not even close.

I’m looking forward to a lot more improvements for sure #YEAHBABY especially with you Joey.

LOTS OF LOVE TO YOU

“BETH BETH” XOXOXOXOXOXOXO

Never Too Late to Achieve Your Best Body, Even at Middle-Age

Today, I’m sharing another “1-Month Private Remote Coaching Reflection Letter” from client “KB” (I have several more of these waiting to be published and shared.)

KB shares an inspiring story that MANY people will be able to identity with – and at the time of me sharing this here, she is coming toward the end of her 3rd month of our custom coaching plan and I’m looking forward to sharing her “update” next month…

For now – enjoy this and the gold contained in it.

My 1-Month Reflection Letter – from “KB”

The first time I was introduced to Joey was twelve years back, in 2008.

I was 35 years old, with two young kids, 2 and 6 years old.

Honestly, I cannot remember if I was googling for “cellulite solutions” or something else, but somehow I found Joey online and I signed up for his “Secrets of a Trainer” e-mail letter.

I liked his no-nonsense approach and his solid & realistic advice on exercise and nutrition.

So I soon purchased his Naked Beauty/SYMULAST program and ULBHTM (The Ultimate Leg, Butt, Hip and Thigh Makeover) program.

I got inspired by his approach and used the ULBHTM DVDs fairly regularly together with a jump rope for toning-cardio.

Honestly, I was probably in the best shape of my adult life during that time,
pretty lean, with some muscle definition.

I remember getting some compliments at the beach that made not only my day, but my whole summer. 🙂 Sadly enough, life happened and I stopped exercising.

I should say that I was never overweight and I looked ok in clothes.

However, years were going by and I was becoming a “skinny fat”.

My body became softer, some dimples started to show up, first on the back of my thighs and the butt, then on the front of my thighs.

I had no tone, no definition. I became much more self-conscious.

I did not want to wear above the knee dresses or shorts and the beach vacations became torturous and not fun…

I stopped wearing bikini and started buying one-piece swimsuits, like an old lady…. 🙁

I never had a long-term consistent exercise habit and routine.

There were a few years in my life when I was somewhat serious about yoga, and then I quit.

I cannot tell you how many different programs I’ve purchased and never used, such a waste of money!

My husband was upset with me.

He wanted me to join the gym, it was important to him that I would be in top shape.

But I hated gyms, I did not want to go there. The idea never appealed to me.

I’ve seen people exhausting themselves physically and taking pleasure in it, but it was not for me. Maybe something was wrong with me, but somewhere deep inside I knew there should be another way to succeed.

Well, enough was enough. I was 47 years old, and if I cannot get into good shape now, then when would I?

It’s just going to go down the hill from now on, right?

Or maybe not?

One of Joey’s e-mails caught my eye one day
and I saw him telling about his remote private coaching. I remember walking with my husband and discussing that.

He thought I should reach out and check out exactly how it worked and if if could be a good fit for me.

So I did, without hoping for much.

Surprisingly, the same day, Joey called me and we had a pleasant conversation.

Long story short – I signed up for 3 months of private remote training & custom coaching with him.

And here I am, writing this one month later.

And I cannot believe it, but I’ve been exercising consistently for the whole month, something I’ve never done before!

It is doable! I can do it!

I am starting to identify myself as a person with a new habit.

I am becoming a person who CAN exercise as part of my lifestyle, and I actually like it!!!

Who would believe it?

Well without even trying I’ve dropped at least 5 pounds.

More importantly my body’s composition is starting to change (something Joey and his Team place priority on), and I am really looking forward to more success.

Joey and I are in touch daily.

He is ready to answer any questions, to support and encourage me.

The daily accountability is extremely helpful.

In addition, having his expert knowledge and understanding of human anatomy and physiology is invaluable!

There is no guessing here.

Joey has the best approach (simple, safe and effective), and as he says “my success is inevitable”.

I like it and I believe it now. 🙂

I am looking forward to the next two months of training with Joey and the whole lifetime of a more confident, happier and healthier ME!

“KB” from Virginia

How sweet is all that!!??

But wait – she’s not even done yet…

Once her 3-month coaching plan is over she’ll be writing another reflection letter and I will post the link to it here so you can see what 2 more months of this unique fitness/coaching style does for people who could never get it right in all past attempts…

I share these success stories not to brag at all – BUT to show people WHAT IS POSSIBLE – no matter your past and no matter when you get started…

AMAZING things ARE possible.

Whatever your goals are – you can reach them, with the proper help and guidance.

You are worth it and your life can be as incredible as you’d like it to be.

Take care of you first and the world gets to be blessed by the best version of YOU!

How Joy Got Into THE BEST Shape of Her Life at 60 Years “Not Old”

How Joy Got Into THE BEST Shape of Her Life at 60 Years “Not Old”

Today, I have a powerful story that is going to inspire you and fuel YOUR motivation to “get with it and stick with it” for both the short term results and long term benefits…

If you’ve been around here for a couple of years or longer – then you may remember when 1-on-1 remote coaching client, Joy in Australia, sent me her “Early Phase Reflection Letter” back in June of 2019 which I shared on the blog here (GOOD stuff!)

And now… fast-forward to 2020 and it’s time to share Joy’s “Graduation Reflection Letter”

Here it is.. Enjoy and see if it stirs something inside you that makes you want to achieve the same kinds of success – BUT YOUR OWN UNIQUE version of it 🙂

FROM:
Joy – from Australia

RE: My 1-on-1 Remote Coaching Graduation and Reflection Letter

Hi Joey, as you suggested, I’m writing as me “witnessing myself” as another person from the outside writing about Joy, who I have been observing through her progression and evolution along the way.

(that really did make it so much easier! lol 🙂

———————–

Zen Quote: “The slow way is the fast way…”

Joy joined Joey’s remote personal 1-on-1 coaching program about 18 months ago.

At the time, she was unhappy with her overall appearance and was looking for a program that could help turn things around and rejuvenate her body and her spirit.

She had no definition in her legs at all, and her thighs were starting to look flabby.

Joy generally felt tired and miserable and believed it was “because of her age” (58 at the time) and that she just needed to accept that it was “part of the aging process”.

She found Joey on the internet via one of his online Lower-Body Fitness programs and made contact with him because his message made sense, and his approach sounded doable, like it “could be that thing”.

After speaking with Joey she decided to give his personal 1-on-1 program a go whilst not really expecting any significant change.

What appealed to Joy at the time was she was able to exercise at home; she didn’t need to purchase a whole lot of big equipment and she didn’t need to travel to a gym every day.

Additionally, Joey wasn’t going to be putting Joy on a crazy or extreme diet, which really pleased her.

Joy started at Phase 1 and found it challenging, but safe and doable…

She admits being exhausted after the first session, but she realized how de-conditioned she really was. It was a real eye-opener, but Joy was grateful for being able to start this now, before it became too late.

At the time she did not realize that Joey had a progressive long-term plan and that over time she would move from Phase 1 to Phase 2, and then eventually Phase 3.

Looking back, Joy realized she would have never known how to create her own Phases of fitness programming, let alone be able to know how to progress inside each phase.

Slowly her fitness improved and when it was time to move from Phase 1 to Phase 2, she was apprehensive about the new exercises but persevered, and over time was able to master them and then eventually move on to Phase 3.

Surprisingly, with Joey’s unique style of Low-Impact/Focused-Intensity training, Phase 3 was still quite challenging, but Joy surprised herself, and after committing to the exercises she was slowly able to improve, making yet even further progress, both physically and mentally.

Joy has noticed the definite toning, sculpting and strengthening improvements in her legs, thighs and shoulders. The healthy muscle definition is actually becoming more evident now, and her butt has lifted and firmed considerably, I repeat, “considerably”. All of which she is extremely happy about.

Joy has noticed the benefits not only to her physical appearance but also to her emotional and mental improvements.

She has also followed Joey’s “Fusion-Flex” nutrition method which is based on eating in the real world of everyday life, and includes access to many effective strategies, specific tactics and incredibly simple recipes straight from Joey’s own kitchen.

She especially loves starting her day with Joey’s Super-Natural Fast-Breaker Espresso Super “Shake”.

Joy’s body has responded so well to the exercise and nutrition program that she is at the point now that she doesn’t need to weigh herself obsessively, and when she puts on a pair of jeans, she is always happy how they just slip on.

She believes this is a program she will follow for the rest of her life because it is now a part of her lifestyle and supports her mission for the type of life she envisions living and all the things she plans on doing in the next few decades.

She has learned, through Joey’s one on one coaching, how to be accountable and to make proper exercise and good nutrition a part of everyday living.

Seeing her reach Maintenance Phase has been quite inspiring. I don’t think Joy could have ever pictured reaching this level of physical, mental and emotional fitness.

She has recently turned 60 and is celebrating the rewards of her commitment to Joey’s coaching and, most importantly, to herself.

She loves seeing the definition in her muscles, her posture has improved and she is sleeping better. She feels good in her clothes and is happy to duck into a clothes shop to try something new without having to spend time ‘dieting’ before she is game enough to try anything on, lol.

Joy now shops for clothes that she NEVER wore in her entire life and she is over the moon about this. But even more important is how Joy now feels about her overall health, wellness and longevity as she looks toward the amazing projects she wants to accomplish in these next few decades of her life.

Balanced workouts and healthy meals are now an automatic daily habit for Joy and she is eagerly anticipating the arrival of her SCULPTAFIT Home-Gym to fully complete and enhance her new lifestyle and future visions.

To put it all in one sentence: Personal 1-on-1 coaching with Joey has completely changed Joy’s life for the better!

[6-28-19] ATLAS Health & Fitness News and Wellness Updates: 5 Hot Items to See

Happy weekend to YOU! 🙂

I hope you had a sweet and productive week… Today's weekly news update is going out to a LOT of people.

We're trying something slightly new here. I'm including global clients & subscribers as well as our local studio & 1-on-1 clients as well.

If you are able to say 'hi' or leave a comment at any of today's links/items – please do AND please share them with anyone else you know who will benefit from what we're sharing today…

A LOT of time and energy goes into putting these weekly updates together, so the more you share with others – the more it helps.

Here we go…

1 – Corporate Wellness / Workplace Fitness is on the upswing and gaining LOTS of momentum…

Companies are not only realizing the positive ROI from these programs but they are also seeing that it is a competitive advantage for attracting and keeping the best talent in the workforce.

If you want to start, or improve, a Corporate Wellness / Workplace Fitness program – we have several different ways we can help you do this, no matter where your business locations are and no matter where your staff are located.

We have a few low-budget, high value solutions – as well as several highly customized, "on site" consulting/programming options we can explore.

Our sweet-spot is small to medium sized businesses (up to a few thousand employees) with a varied employee base that needs proper guidance on safe exercise, smart nutrition patterns and healthy wellness lifestyle habits.

When your people are healthier and stronger – so is your company.

2 – Here's one of my recent fb/Instagram posts that seem to be getting more attention than others.

Feel free to click through, share it and leave a comment, etc…

Image

3 – I have some powerful breakthroughs happening with some of my 1-on-1 Long-Distance Private Coaching clients…

I'll be sharing at least one or two new "1st Month Reflections" here in the near future.

With this being something relatively new in terms of how I structure the coaching program with each client – I'm looking forward to these reflections being shared more and therefore inspiring others to take proper action for all the right reasons.

Here are a few key highlights from recent coaching "catch-up calls & check-ins"

A – One client has reached the "40 day mark – SMOKE FREE" – this is HUGE.

This has been a challenge, but one he wants to overcome and he is on his way to doing it.

In addition to proper fitness training and smart nutrition habits under my guidance – putting the kibosh on smoking is going to have a powerful positive impact on his life.

B – Breaking free of our culture's "overeating mindset".

One of the common themes in my 1-on-1 coaching situations is the element of isolating and negating the common habits of the crowds.

The American society, and others, have been "trained" to overeat and over-drink. Period.

As a whole, this country is in serious trouble in regards to health & wellness.

No amount of drugs, surgeries or procedures will defeat the over-consumption that goes on in the USA.

The fix has to happen at the "individual level".

Self awareness and mindfulness are the start of the answer.

Realizing that one is "drifting with the masses" is the first step in being able to stop drifting and take back control & employ self-responsibility.

I know this because that was my own first step in FINALLY beating the negative forces that kept me from becoming my best self… I share my detailed story here in case you haven't seen it.

4 – Here is the latest addition to the ATLAS-SCULPTAFIT Video-On-Demand Fitness & Nutrition Portal

( if you're not a Total-Access Member yet and want to be – then go here to start with your 2-Weeks FREE Trial-Period in the beginning )
Image

Marilyn shares the details of how she has dropped over 46 LBS so far and how she plans to keep this going. Her hubby is also living healthy with her and making excellent progress as well…

After Marilyn – I held a Q & A Session:
Image

5 – I've been getting many requests to talk about Intermittent Fasting and how I've been "using it" to achieve my best body composition and my best health profile in decades…

I'll be doing a deep dive video segment and some specific nutrition plans soon, which will all be going into the ATLAS-SCULPTAFIT Video-On-Demand Fitness & Nutrition Portal for members

But I will also do a basic post about it on the blog – nothing detailed but a good summary overview about it.

The key about Intermittent Fasting is to remember that it isn't an extreme diet or some crazy eating method – it's actually much simpler and offers an array of eating/food choices.

It's not to be categorized with any of the faddish & trendy diet-schemes that are flooding the mass media – but rather it's an overarching approach to when and how we eat and drink according to how nature INTENDED..

Stay tuned…

Are you new in my world?

Did someone just share this post with you to help you get access to good, helpful and unique health, wellness & fitness info?
And do you have any questions, comments or thoughts?
Then come connect with me here and let me know.

How Cindi Got Off The Deadly Diet and Weight-Loss Roller Coaster

how to lose weight without dieting

You’re going to love this.. It is awesome, in many ways.

I got so much incredible feedback when I shared Joy’s personal wellness/fitness coaching success letter a few days ago – I decided I’ll keep sharing them as long as each client is ok with it (some prefer to keep private, which is totally fine).

So on that note – today I’m sharing a really powerful one from, Cindi. She’s been with me for just over a month and she wrote a moving 1-month progress & reflection letter a few days ago.

She emailed it to me with 3 things:

1 – a short intro
2 – her daily “check-in” summary for the day
3 – the actual 1-month progress reflection

I decided to share all 3 of those items with you – because together they make for quite a powerful combo that will inspire, awaken and motivate readers into new action and new mindsets…

After reading please do share this with anyone else you wish and if you need the same kind of help, just send us an email with your main challenges, issues and problems and we’ll get you on the coaching waiting list.

Ok – here is Cindi….
—————————————-

1 – her short intro

Joey Atlas. Wow.

You know this is still amazing to me.

Joey Atlas the fitness guy is working with me! Sounds funny right?!

As I wrote my coaching reflection on my first month being in coaching with Joey, it amazes me how many lies are told to get people to buy into a program, a pill, a fad, even if it is a lie.

They prey on the weak and vulnerable.

I remember how it felt when I would see an infomercial, oh they made it sound so good, and so promising, that I was compelled to buy what it was they were selling.

It’s as bad as refined sugar. It’s an addiction. They are so wicked!

The train to nowhere that never stops, yet it continues to pick up passengers along the way. I don’t know how many tickets I purchased for that ride!

I do know though, when that train went by Joey Atlas, I jumped off and took my bumps and bruises for the hope that he was offering!

BEST decision I have made for my health!

Can I scream it from the rooftops?!

Can I yell at the top of my lungs?!

Joey, I love you and who you are, and what you stand for, and how much you have helped me in just one month!!!!!!!!!

I am sending hugs and kisses in the spirit to YOU my friend for Life!

And here is:

My Summary for June 5, 2019

Good morning Sunshine!

Joey is truly keeping in my remembrance – gratefulness.

Something I have learned and practiced over the years but seemed to have forgotten. The Lord is using Joey to stir up all that is in me, that He has taught me.

I am truly so ever grateful for that. I am grateful for an amazing leader – Joey.

I know, he hears this a lot, and that’s just confirmation to him that he is doing things, moving and shaking!

Moving and shaking people out of their comfort zone! LOL.

No walking this morning. Needed that sleep and not rushing out to walk. Just realized that I have a 1-hour massage today! Oh, my goodness I cannot wait for that.

It has been many years since I had one. This I won at an auction for Isaiah’s school. I pray that this guy is good! I am planning on a great day; therefore, I will have a great day!

Have still been dealing with the lethargy feeling mid-week. It kicks my butt. I don’t like this. I do not like the way it feels nor the way my body responds. Joey says this will pass as I begin to lose more weight.

You know what? I believe him. He has not steered me wrong.

I tried to take a nap and that didn’t work well. Just after dinner though I lied down again, and this time I did sleep. It helped somewhat.

The massage was okay. As I lay there, I thought to myself that I will not go anywhere else, but that my friend will be the only one to touch my body and give me a massage. Until I meet Joey’s massage therapist that is.

The following is a reflection of the past month with Joey. A little history and how I feel about where I am today, one month later.
—————

My 1-month Progress Reflection:

I never thought I would be where I am today mentally.

One month ago, I began working with Joey. That in and of itself is something beyond me. He was chosen for me, and I have never looked back nor wondered what I was doing.

Up until a month ago I was on the merry go round of an eating disorder.

I never looked at my issues that way, yet, that is exactly what it was. I never needed a reason to eat, like a person who never needs a reason to drink.

Yes, I justified my habit of eating every feeling on earth, and I was very good at it. I learned how to eat in private, no one would know, I left no evidence.

Who wants to be called out when you already know what you are doing?

I did not want my husband to know the depth of my problem. I didn’t even want to admit it.

Over the years I knew that I wanted to change, to change my eating habit, my body, everything about Cindi.

I tried everything there was to help me. Workout videos, diets, pills, not eating, eating more, you name it and I did it.

Each and every time I tried something, I was gung-ho, until about a month in. I would get bored, I would get hungry, and I would just get tired of no results.

I had not hit “bottom” yet.

All of those so-called diets, and fitness instructors, they all lacked one very major thing, mindset.

I didn’t know it then, I do now. I didn’t fail at all of those things, they failed me.

They did not teach me that unless I could change how I looked at food, how I perceived physical fitness, NOTHING would ever change for me.

It appears about 5 years ago I found Joey Atlas.

I even purchased something from him. Who knows where that went?!

I don’t recall actually reading many, if any, emails I received, I did keep them though, maybe a video or two I watched.

Time and season. When the student is ready the teacher appears.

And that is EXACTLY what happened. Joey appeared.

Even though I had been receiving emails from some fitness guy that I never really followed; one day, just over a month ago, I got another email from Joey Atlas.

Now, this was not just to me, it was to everyone that is on the email list.

I read this one, for some reason, I read THIS one.

It said that Joey had a private 1 on 1 coaching spot available and anyone interested just needed to respond to the email.

What got into me?

I responded without hesitation.

His response was, the spot was taken.

Okay, wasn’t the time for me. Maybe next time. Not!

It ended up working out for me to have a very coveted spot with this guy Joey Atlas. I am so blessed that I made it in.

Joey began not by throwing workouts at me, do this, do that.

No, he began by asking about me. Who I am and what led me to this place?

He didn’t put me on a restricted diet and tell me that lack of food and expending energy that I didn’t have will get me to lose weight.

No, he began teaching me that food is not the enemy.

He was teaching me that I needed to change my mindset.

It was very different from the fitness world that I knew and I knew from day 1 that Joey had what it took to help me.

A 52-year-old woman that all but gave up on the dream that I would, could be healthy. Not to only look good on the outside, on the inside too.

That was my breaking point. My bottom. It was my health.

I had a hard time walking up the stairs and not feeling like I was going to die. My doctor told me that I had arthritis in both knees. I was over-weight. My feet swelled all of the time.

I was just not going in the right direction. And I was sick and tired of it.

Joey has changed all of that in my life. Because I was willing, I was coachable and I was motivated, to finally do something about my life.

I truly never thought that I would feel like this again, I didn’t truly believe that I would be a fit woman.

I don’t think I ever was a fit woman, not both inside and out.

There were many times over this past month that I wanted to go back to the old ways, the old habits of eating whatever whenever.

I haven’t done that. Joey has made such an impact on my life that I don’t want to mess up my progress.

The progress, let me say, is not as noticeable on the outside as it is on the inside!

I know that by me listening to the teacher, the one who has gone thru so much of what I went thru, that I will continue to become healthier each day I live.

I am choosing to not be rebellious when it comes to my health.

Believe me it has not been easy. It was really difficult for me. I thought that I had to be deprived of food, my thinking was so messed up.

In the beginning with Joey, I would cry, I was so hungry, and I thought that I could only eat rabbit food; salad, with lettuce and stuff.

I actually went more than a few days, maybe a solid week before I began to understand that it was a lie, and that my food choices were far more varied and wide-ranging than just that!

I was believing lies about eating. But through a gentle process, Joey is helping me change that, not by forcing a “diet”, but simply by helping me understand some truths that we’ve all been blinded to by society and the mass media…

God gave us good food to eat, and I’m learning that.

Not the processed stuff that comes in bags, and boxes, all the things that I enjoyed tasting and swallowing, it didn’t matter that it made me sick!

I can look back and ask myself what took me so long to get this?

It can only be because I was not ready. And I was also misled for many years, just like most people are. But I take responsibility for that now.

I am looking forward to continuing to move forward with Joey.

I have come to love and understand true accountability.

I am so grateful that Joey found a place for me.

Good night,
Cindi
