And when something becomes a problem, we avoid it, move away from it, or try to forget it…
But when it comes to our health, wellness and longevity – avoiding our habits of fitness leads to even bigger, life-altering problems.

In this shorter episode of The Fitness Whisperer Podcast, I touch on several aspects of fitness programming that make success more likely and more sustainable for the long term – as in for LIFE.
These elements apply in any setting, whether it be personal, family and/or corporate fitness & workplace wellness.
The key to making fitness a successful combination of daily lifestyle habits is through simplification.
The problem we face is that the mass markets, mass media, social media messaging and “water cooler” talk is fueling the proliferation of dangerous complication.
Workouts and exercise programs are becoming more complicated. HIIT workouts, High-Impact boxing and dance classes, hardcore gym routines, fast-paced boot-camps – they are all complicating the fitness landscape.
Don’t get me wrong – some of those choices are ok for some people, when done properly and when part of a balanced overall fitness plan.
BUT – for the rest of us regular, busy folks with full lives, family, careers, etc – WE NEED SIMPLIFICATION. We need programs that REDUCE the risk of injury and increase our ability to ADHERE.
Diets and “nutrition fads” are becoming more complicated.
Keto, paleo, Whole-this, Low-carb-that, Detox cleanses, etc… – these “weight-loss offers” are smoke and mirrors that are blinding people to the reality that proper nutrition isn’t a weird science that we still haven’t figured out – or that it is some “trick” way of eating that defies metabolic physiology…
All those do is complicate what actually needs to be simplified.
The key to proper nutrition that results in more fitness and health success is realizing that we don’t need to complicate how and what we eat and drink each day – but on the contrary, we just need to simplify things in order to make them realistic, consistent and sustainable – and hence, EFFECTIVE.
Complication sets the stage for failure.
Simplification sets the stage for success.

I am very excited about the new podcast and have been trying to tune into most of them so far. Unfortunately they are too long for me so it’s been hard to get through them. But I’m hanging in there b/c I love the content! But if it’s possible to be quicker to get to the points would be wonderful!
