Why am I calling this the Home Gym Horror Show?

Because my beautiful blank canvas (the clean, empty garage) that you saw a few weeks ago is now looking more like a modern-day Sanford & Son…

UGHHhhh…! Over the last 3 days, I’ve come to face the hard reality that I have more “things” than just a handful… And for someone who does not like clutter and tends to lean toward minimalism – these last few days have been a little stressful.

And in these last 3 days, Darah and I were on a tear.. JoJo was as well, since he’ll be off to college in a few months…

We basically donated, gave-away, threw out or kept… Those were the 4 choices. And it helped us reduce the amount of “stuff” bigtime… HOWEVER, there is still more to go!!! And we will do it… I lay some of it out here in PART 2 of the Home Gym/Fitness Room Transplant:

So that email got a bunch of incredible responses and questions. And to follow-up, I’ve compiled just about every question, listed them below – and the answer is under each one.

If by some chance you have more questions, simply scroll to the bottom and post your questions, comments or thoughts in the comment box down there…

1 – What will the price be? And Shipping?

Ok – so, I’ll start this one by adding a primer question. A few people actually commented in their email that;

“it must have cost me a fortune to design, engineer and fabricate The SCULPTAFIT Home Gym Version 1.0 about 10 years ago… do you remember what that was and can you share it?”

Yes I can!

All factors considered, about 10 years ago, I invested about $35,000.00 to design, engineer and have the first one custom built, and then test, improve and build the second model of Version of 1.0

About 2 years ago I invested about another $12,000
to improve, enhance and test the Version 2.0 prototype that you see me using in my own home gym videos (before making 8 of them for the SCULPTAFIT Studio…

Then invested about $24,000 to have 8 units (version 3.0) built for the Studio… That was over a year ago and those have been passing “the test” with flying colors…

So add ALL THAT up and that gives you an idea of how much I’ve invested in creating and testing the ultimate home gym package solution. Yep it’s a LOT of $$$$$$$$.$$

Which takes us to Version 4.0, which is the one I’m working on for you and any other person who wants one from the first official “Founders Batch” production run for end users at their home, office, vacation homes, etc…

I have several fitness pros who are waiting for theirs, and they have happily offered to pay about $4,500.00 for the SCULPTAFIT Genius, because they know what they are getting and they know it will return many many times that value…

BUT, my goal is to get this far lower than that…

My aim is to get the price UNDER $2,500.00… and even lower if I can…

I’m working on getting Version 4.0 built in the USA, with the best quality workmanship as a priority – because I want to offer a LIFETIME Warranty on your unit. Yes, you read that right… LIFETIME Warranty.

And I want to be able to hop on a plane and go visit my production partners as things progress and get bigger and bigger…

When you consider ALL that you’ll be able to do with yours, and that the ENTIRE family can use it, you see that this is actually a steal of a deal.

I’ll explain more about this in a future post, showing you various home gyms that cost between $3,500.00 and $20,000.00 – that can’t hold a candle to the SCULPTAFIT Genius Home-Gym…

All that being said, my strongest goal is to get it to the $2,000.00 price point. So, mine cost me way over $50,000.00 and yours will be a small fraction of that 🙂

Shipping will vary depending on how far the box must travel. But, you can use this as a benchmark… Each time I had one built and shipped to me (inside the USA) the shipping ran about $150 – $190… still not bad.

2 – Payment plans?

Yes, we will have payment plan, installment options for anyone needing to pay over time.

3 – Size/Footprint?

It sits on a 4 foot by 5 foot space and is 7 feet high. And you’ll want to leave a few feet in front of the unit for using the rigid SCULPTAMAT bench and the SCULPTABANDS. About 4 – 6 feet is ideal

4 – Ship to which countries?

We are working to be able to ship to almost every country. More details to come over the next few weeks.

5 – Warranty?

YES, there will be a LIFETIME warranty on all the steel (very sweet indeed 🙂 . Anything soft such as the SCULPTAMAT bench, any rubber grips, and the bands will have a limited warranty.

6 – Programs for all levels of users?

YES

7 – How long to assemble?

About 35 minutes, less with 2 people.

8 – How many people to assemble?

1 can do it, but 2 is easier for sure.

9 – Time for delivery

Could possible have the “Founders Batch” ready to ship by the New Year.

10 – Male & Female?

YES

11 – Switching between users, and adjusting attachments with ease?

YES

12 – Can we use it with Knee issues?

YES, and with back issues, shoulder issues, etc…

13 – Need electricity?

NO

14 – Follow along videos? Various programs/workouts?

Yes – included will be a foundational video series, that teaches how to use the SCULPTAFIT Home Gym, plus several types of workout programs and stretching routines.

There will also be a monthly private membership option for clients who want:

– new monthly coaching videos and training programs
– direct access to video/audio Q & A sessions and “call in” coaching days
– ability to connect with other SCULPTAFIT people and share tips, insights, accountability, etc.. (we will build a movement together)
– access to live-streaming video sessions
– discounts on any new items (newly invented attachments, branded clothing, etc..)

16 – Does it Include Everything? What does it include?

Included for all “Founder Owners” who pre-order will be:

– the complete SCULPTAFIT main unit

– ALL attachments, which are:

— the AV independent handles

17 – Will we be able to do stretching/flexibility, cardio, balance/mobility, and full body type workouts, in addition to all the strength and toning programs??

YES, YES and YES…

18 – Community, monthly Q & A, new/varied programs, Coaching call-ins, etc.

YES, because of the monthly cost and upkeep, this will be offered optionally to add on for a nominal private membership fee, FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY.

Home Gym Transplant Fitness Room Makeover: Part 1

The #1 Rule when designing a Home Gym Room for Fitness is to first CAREFULLY define your reasons “WHY” you’re creating it.

I’ve already done this of course – BUT, for beginners, or people seeking to get started on their health and fitness journey – this is the MOST IMPORTANT thing that must be answered first.

The cost of not having this answer first is that you spend way too much money on the wrong things. Which then means you have to either give-away, donate, return or sell the things you bought – and then YOU STILL HAVE TO buy the right things after that… **Costing you even more time and money**.

The critical key is to know what you need, based on “why”… Your goals… Your desired outcomes. And if you have a partner, or a full family then this also should be taken into consideration, so EVERYONE can benefit from a properly planned home-gym fitness room.

In other words; What are your GOALS, both short term and long term?

Once we determine the answers to those questions, THEN we can plan the Home Gym Layout and the Fitness Items that will become part of that space.

As I write this, it reminds me when I was invited to the Greenwich, CT “home” of Leona and Harry Helmsley in the mid-90’s… (photo below)

You Don’t Need Too Much Space for a Great Home Gym Room

Leona wanted me to train Harry after he was released from physical therapy, following his stroke.

During my initial visit, she walked me through part of the 17,000 square foot estate (officially named, Dunnellen Hall), and showed me a few rooms, before coming to the ‘exercise room’… a dark, small, office-type of room with one of those old-school, 90% chrome multi-station, home-gym units crammed into it, with the customary tan pads, gray weight stacks, and a bunch of cables and pulleys… Ugh…

In one of the biggest mansions in the world (home went back on the market for almost $50 million in 2016) – and the “home gym” was an afterthought. Strange, but I get it…

That’s a slightly bizarre story I’ll come back to another day… There’s some more drama involved that holds some valuable lessons.

For now – here are my main areas of focus as I transplant my Home Gym and Fitness Room

1 – Flooring (need to still be able to train barefoot, even though it’s ‘the garage’)
2 – Lighting
3 – Ventilation (fans?) (especially cooling for hot weather)
4 – Screen for bugs when large garage door is open (will this work?)
5 – Sound/Music

Space allocation will be a consideration, because I still have to fit a 10 foot Stand-up Paddleboard, 2 bikes, and some other things, into the garage…

Because “travel” presents one of the biggest challenges for most people when trying to “stick with the fitness program”…

But all it takes is some pre-planning with simple “road workouts” and a few essential tools that travel well…

1 – Lateral Deltoid/Shoulder Raise (Abduction) With Resistance Bands

4 – Unilateral Shrugs (for Trapezius) With Resistance Bands

How to Get Motivated to Workout- The #1 Secret to Endless Motivation

Many people want to know the “Secret” to having unlimited MOTIVATION…

Some people think it’s a ‘genetic’ thing, or a personality thing, or an IQ-related thing… and it’s possible that those could play a part in this equation, but none of them are the definitive answer…

Here’s a Truth About Motivation – and for Many, This Is “The Answer”

The true secret to “motivation” lies within the definition of the word itself.

The primary definition of motivation reads as; “the reason or reasons (intrinsic and/or extrinsic) one has for acting or behaving in a particular way.”

So, when we consider the literal definition – we realize that motivation isn’t this ambiguous thing that some people have more, or less, of.

When we think about the common excuse of not exercising and/or eating properly, we hear that common complaint of; “I just don’t have enough motivation.”

When people say that – they are pinning their lazy, unhealthy ways on this supposed lack of some internal trait or characteristic that other people who are staying on the healthy path, seem to have more of.

And that’s where the falsehood lies…

Motivation is not something in and of itself that certain people have more of and others have less of. No, rather it is a reason, or multiple reasons, that fuel a person’s desire to take certain actions, aimed at achieving specific outcomes or goals – and/or avoiding other outcomes, or consequences.

So, to use myself as an example… Some of my motivations for exercising daily and eating well are:

1 – I want to slow-down the aging process (actually reverse it in some regards)
2 – I want to prevent diseases (fatty liver disease, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, etc…)
3 – I want to have lots of energy and full physical functionality (I don’t wan’t to lose my independence in my later years)
4 – I want to set a good example for my kids and other people around me
5 – I want to be my best in all aspects of life (the best me allows the others around me to experience a better life as well)
6 – I want to make a positive impact on the world by showing how to live a simple, fitness-focused lifestyle that anyone can do…

Those are just some of my motivations (there are more)…

But they clearly illustrate and clarify what “motivation” actually is and that motivation can be developed, increased and strengthened simply by listing what is important to you in life, what you value the most in your life, when you consider all the people in your life, and your responsibilities to those people – starting with YOU first.

You’ve just discovered that you have “unlimited motivation” waiting to be unleashed. Just list your reasons, keep them handy – and let them become your constant reminder of your “why”.

And when you find yourself falsely thinking;
“I’m not feeling that motivated…” REMEMBER, motivation is not a feeling – it’s a reason, or reasons, why you are choosing to take certain actions.

Lack of motivation is no longer a viable excuse. It can now be one of your new Super-Powers, because you actually understand what the word means.

Don’t forget to share this with your friends, family members and co-workers who might be falsely “lacking motivation”.
